... and also removed the restriction on the air flow meter ...
How was this exactly done?
Did Regal skim the head to increase static compression?
With more duration & lift I'd not be surprised if your C20XE manages 180bhp .
the head has been skimmed twice yes- so the compression is slightly higher.
The air flow metre has mesh either side of it- if you remove this, the 'pick up' under acceleration improves. also i've cut away the wing side of the air box, below the level of the filter - this allows more air to be drawn into the system (and sounds good too)
I'll try and sort out some photos for the weekend.

Yeah, wholly agreed . These are the meshes I kicked off my LET:
Beware however that by making openings in the sides of the airbox you are allowing hot underbonnet air to be sucked in, specially in summer urban traffic. Snafu. Much better to fit a cold air, high pressure frontal intake :
THIS really improves air feed under acceleration & speed recovery . Here is a page in English explaining it:
welcome owen! we are so happy to have another friend overseas thank you (and the others international friends too, mystique for example ) because you are helping so much us to learn english
Opel Astra Coupe Bertone Edition 2.2 16V 147CV "Naranjito"
Nice car mister Owen, nice car... Another clubber from here has an Irmscher Cavalier V6.
As you can see, you don't have to have a Calibra to speak here... the engines are the same for between many Vauxhall/Opel no-Calibra and the Calibra.
So, you increase the air inlet line in the manifold and in the air filter, be carefull about taking hot air form the engine around... as cold as you can get it, better.
What compression value do you have right now in the car?
Cutting the Airbox away- if it is done on the 'wing side' of the car (opposite side to the engine) it doesn't draw in much hot air to be honest - also- the summers here are a lot cooler than in Spain so i guess it is more of an issue for you guys.
Compression values. i wouldn't be able to tell you, as i do not know myself i could always try and find out- but at the minute i haven't a clue.
good site- i am aware of having a cold air feed going to the airbox - but the next plas for me are a Viper induction kit with louvres cut into the bonnet.
